Layout: First Christmas

Christmas 2012 was pretty magical. It was Millie’s first Christmas and it was so much fun seeing her enjoy all of the twinkling lights and and shiny baubles.

Card: Hello Friend

I love the bright colors of last month's Scraptastic Kit Club, Mr Brightside kit. In trying to use up scraps and add to my card collection, I created this card. On the inside I stamped a thank you sentiment and wrote a note to a friend who has been so kind to me lately.
This card has already flown the coup and I love my new resolution to make (and use) cards on a regular basis.

Recipe: Chickpea and Quinoa Salad {Meatless Monday}

I found this recipe on Pinterest, and gave it a shot. The first time I made this, I knew I had a winner! I love the fresh veggies mixed with the chickpeas and quinoa.

Our verdict- a Pinterest WIN. I made this again this past weekend and added green peppers and it was a BIG hit! For a dish that is healthy, light, and filling- I recommend checking out the recipe and giving it a shot!

Card: Have A Fabulous Day

I am generally not a card maker, and I feel extremely guilty every time I go out to buy a card for a birthday, wedding, or new baby. I have the stamps. I have the pretty paper. And I have the envelopes.
My goal this year is to start making cards more often and then keep them organized so they are easy to find when events arise.
Also, I am going to take advice from a friend and before cleaning my scrap area, challenge myself to make as many cards as possible out of what is left out.
I was able to make one card the other night before Millie woke up and needed me to get her back to sleep. Success!

Layout: Miss Independent

Miss A has grown so much in the past few weeks. I love seeing her personality blossom.
This picture shows my girl exerting her will to self feed ( no matter how much food she wastes and wears ).

Thanks for stopping by!

Layout: Love Your Smile

I hated this layout when I began working on it. I didn't like the feel of it, then I journaled directly on the layout and disliked that as well. So. I left the page on my scrap table for a couple of days and sat down to figure out what I needed to do.
I covered up the journaling with more Gesso and a doily. Then added layers with the tag and chevron bag. When working with the title, an idea struck: have multiple perspectives of journaling from visiting family members (who were entertaining the girl so I could craft).
This was when from one of my least favorite pages to a favorite in minutes. I love having her grandparent's, a great grandma, and Ry's journaling in addition to mine in the bag.
