Sketchy Saturday: You Made Me

I am making a commitment to document my life more. I used to only scrapbook about myself. Then it was my relationships with Ryan. Then came Millie. My goal is to write down more of my thoughts and feelings in these moments in order to process life and keep record of who I am now.

This sketch is from the Scraptastic blog. I love the design and didn't change much with my interpretation.

Layout: Pick of the Patch

Yesterday we went to a Pumpkin Patch and I told Millie that she could have as many pumpkins as she could carry. Unfortunately she couldn’t really carry any of the pumpkins...so her Daddy helped her out and grabbed a pumpkin for her! She is developing such a fun personality- check out her face on the photo on the right!

Little bits of mist and splatter mixed with Jillibean Soup die cuts and enamel stars.

Those Simple Stories jack-o-lanterns are too cute and I love the alpha to bits!

If you enjoyed this layout, please go to You Tube and watch the process video!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Layout: Happy Halloween (Throwback Thursday!)

Yes, it took me until December to complete my Halloween layouts, until April to blog them, and until July to hit publish. Don’t judge!
For Halloween, Millie had two costumes. One was an awesome fish costume bought on clearance by my in laws when she was a newborn. It was too cute! And one was this handmade TARDIS sweatshirt a la me. I pulled out the old standby Cat in the Hat onesie. But I didn't have the hat. So I grabbed a top hat and drew on a nose and whiskers and called it good enough.
We had around 350 trick or treaters. We are planning on doing it up big this Halloween - music, lights, maybe some games...any ideas?!?

Layout: A Perfect Day

In attempts to use every last scrap from my June Scraptastic Summer Nights kit, I created this layout. I had used most of the patterned paper in the kit so I grabbed the 3x4 cards and some of the other embellishments and created some simple layers.

How do you stretch your supplies?

Stick It Down DT: Everyday Happy

I love how quickly this page came together for this sketch:

I rarely use black as a background, but this layout is stricking with the bright happy colors against the black. I may have to try this again!

Layout: Sweet Slumber

Long story short: We bought a bed frame at IKEA in August. We bought a mattress just a few weeks ago. You know, life and stuff. When we went to pick out a mattress, Millie was exhausted and fell asleep on the way to the store. She slept on a Serta (read: we would welcome big advertising money for the adorable model, but were not compensated for this post) the entire time we tested the different mattresses.

If only she napped that well at home! :)

Layout: Dress Up & Playtime

Oh Millie's imagination is blossoming and she is so much fun to play with and to watch play. I love listening to her pretend with her pre-speech babble when she plays with her 'friends'. She picked out the above outfit and wanted to play dress up with her Halloween costume. It didn't fit, so she walked around with it on her head and would "swim" her arms when asked to swim like a fish.

Layout: Currently Saying

This week's Scraptastic challenge is to use a quote or saying from the subject of the photo as the title of your layout. I have been meaning to document this story and I am so happy to have it down!

Millie calls Wes Da. She screams it all the time: Daaaaaaa!! Especially if Grandmama asks her to say her name instead.

Layout: You Are Delightful

In the month of December I focused on creating my December album and was trying so hard to keep up I left my December kit completely untouched. I am finally getting caught up with my November and December kits. This is predominantly a December Kit layout:

I love Millie's delightful and curious spirit. She fills my days with awesome.

Layout: Right Here

This layout happened for the sake of creating something. I needed some down time with my paper and pretties and haven't had a chance to print any recent photos. I grabbed a photo I adore and set off to just create something.
Last week's Scraptastic challenge was to use shapes. I used a banner/fish tail shape and several circles as inspiration in the composition of this page.

Layout: Upside Down Point of View

I finally got around to creating a layout for last week's Scraptastic sketch challenge:

I didn't follow the sketch exactly, but it is pretty close:

I wanted to make the most of the Color blind kit and have teeny tiny scraps of patterned paper, two pieces of red cardstock and a few embellishments left. I am super happy with the final layout and  that there are not many items to store. I love when I can create layouts I love and move on to the next kit.
Love the Ormolu flair!
And the Ormolu cut apart tag that rounds out the title!

Layout: Owl Love You to Bits

I created this layout using the Colorblind kit from Scraptastic. I love the color combination and the fun geometric designs.

Layout: This is Halloween 2012

This week's Scraptastic challenge is to hide an element. I started this layout right before Halloween, but...you know, life happened. To finish the layout, I tucked some journaling in the bag using a spider as the pull tab. How halloweeny of me.

Layout: Lovely

It has been a long time since a bought paper and was too in love to make the first cut...but I am swooning over Hello Again by Carta Bella. I have made the first cut, and can't wait to make more!

The August Scraptastic kits are phenomenal. Seriously. This layout was inspired by the current challenge on the Scraptastic blog- draw with mist.

All items except mist came from the Classy Girls kit + add on.

 Thanks for looking!
